On the 23rd of March, the CLIMOS project had the honor of leading an enlightening lecture on leishmaniasis tailored specifically for children aged 8 to 10. Hosted at the Center for Talented Minds in the Czech Republic, a space for students who seek individual and flexible approach to education.
This event was aimed to educate young minds about the threats posed by parasites to both humans and our beloved pets. Together, we explored various strategies for safeguarding ourselves and our furry companions against Sand Fly Borne Diseases (SFBD), as well as methods for effective treatment.
But it wasn’t all about learning – creativity took center stage as the children engaged in drawing, crafting, and playful activities, further enhancing their understanding of the topic in a fun and interactive way.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Iva Kolářová and Ms. Jeanne Boučková for spearheading this fantastic initiative and providing an invaluable educational experience for the next generation. Through initiatives like these, we hope to inspire curiosity, awareness, and a sense of responsibility towards public health and animal welfare in young minds
